Orange County Surf Forecast - for Thursday - 3/18/2010

The combo swell of WNW-NW swell and S-SW swell will continue on Thursday…with the NPAC swell backing off slightly, while the S-SW swell gets a touch bigger.

Average spots are going to hold around knee-waist high with some inconsistent chest high waves on the lower tides. Standout NW facing breaks and excellent NW/S-SW combo spots will have more chest-shoulder high waves with some rare bigger sets mixing it up.

Look for mostly light and variable winds in the morning with some pockets of light offshore winds in a few spots. These winds will hold through mid-morning but then turn westerly around lunch and will eventually peak around 10-15+ knots by late afternoon. Look for cooler beach temps, with some overcast skies and possibly even some fog at times.
