Orange County Surf Forecast - for Thursday - 2/18/2010
Make sure to read the full region forecast it has more complete details on the incoming swell and regional conditions. Click here for the full forecast www.socalsurf.com.
Leftover WNW-NW swell and small SW energy will continue to send in some rideable/playful surf on Thursday. It won’t be all that speedy/punchy even on the good sandbars/shallow reefs…there just isn’t much energy left in the swell mix…but we can still expect a few fun sections at the better combo breaks. Look for surf in the knee-waist high range for most of the average OC spots. Standout NW breaks and the excellent combo spots will see a few waist-chest high+ sets sneaking through on the lower tides.
Winds look good…mostly light and variable to light offshore for the morning. NW winds around 10-14 knots move in through the afternoon.
Here are the tides…

Orange County Surf Forecast - for Tuesday - 2/16/2010
Make sure to read the full region forecast it has more complete details on the incoming swell and regional conditions. Click here for the full forecast www.socalsurf.com.
The mix of W-NW swell and weaker background SW swell will back down on Tuesday but there will still be plenty of fun waves at the well exposed spots. Most of the county is going to average around chest-shoulder high on the sets…but the better exposed combo spots will see some occasionally bigger sets on the lower tides. The standout WNW-NW facing breaks, mostly throughout North County, will be more in the shoulder-head high range with some overhead sets still pushing through in the morning. The surf looks fun through the morning tide push but may slow down quite a bit as the tide fills in…you may want to plan around that tide peak.
